Last weekend, Ye (formerly Kanye West) and Ty Dolla $ign finally dropped their highly anticipated album, Vultures 2, without any prior notice. Fans had been eagerly waiting for this release, especially after several delays. Since it came out, reactions have been mixed.
Some fans really like the album, praising the creativity and the collaboration between Ye and Ty Dolla $ign. On the other hand, some listeners feel that the album didn’t live up to their expectations and wasn’t worth the long wait.

Earlier in the week, reports suggested that Vultures 2 was expected to sell about 68,000 units in its first week. For most artists, that would be a solid number, but for Ye, it’s lower than usual. It was predicted that the album would debut at No. 2 on the Billboard charts, just behind Taylor Swift’s album, The Tortured Poets Department.

Now, the official first-week sales are in according to HipHopNMore. Vultures 2 ended up selling 107,000 units, with 60,000 of those being pure sales (where fans actually bought the album rather than just streaming it). Even though these numbers are higher than initially expected, they’re still not as strong as some of Ye’s previous albums, like Jesus Is King or Donda.
While Vultures 2 may not have reached the top of the charts, it’s still making a big impact and keeping fans and critics talking about Ye’s latest work.
