Ye officially revealed the release date for the next drop of the highly anticipated YEEZY GAP Engineered By Balenciaga clothing collection – stick with YM as we explore the rollout of the venture along with more information.

The collaboration was first announced in January 2022 - with Ye taking to Instagram to share the news. The since deleted image post showcased a signed collaboration agreement between GAP, YEEZY and Balenciaga. The post included no caption from Ye himself, but it was easy for fans to see exactly what would come next from this partnership.

Speaking with Vogue at the time, Ye stated that it was a "...a vision come true to work with Gap and Demna, the creative director of Balenciaga, to make incredible product available to everyone at all times”. While this is the first time these three brands have collaborated together, Ye along with the YEEZY brand have seen highly successful partnerships with the brands separately.

YEEZY GAP has continued to sell out each release with the wild success of its first silhouette, the 'Round Jacket'. This item of clothing launched back in June 2021, shortly before Ye began holding large-scale listening parties to support the album Donda. Ye would be seen wearing unreleased colorways of the jacket at this time, further increasing its demand.

Ye also worked alongside Demna at this time, with the designer made creative director of the stage design, livestreams and merchandise associated with Ye's three listening parties for Donda. In addition to this, the two worked together earlier in the same year for merchandise commemorating the life of the late, great artist DMX, with proceeds raising in excess of $1 million for their family.

Ye announced released the first collection YEEZY GAP Engineered by Balenciaga in late February 2022. He wore apparel from the then-unreleased collection for his listening party that showcased his eleventh studio album, Donda 2.

The upcoming collection was previewed alongside Ye's music video for the track "Life of the Party" from Donda. The music video includes home recordings from Ye's past along with other images of the artist in their childhood - however, these images have been deepfaked so that it appears that they are singing and rapping the lyrics of the song. In addition to this, the original clothing worn by many in these pictures has been replaced by upcoming YEEZY GAP Engineered by Balenciaga clothing.

GAP took to their Instagram page to announce both the music video and release date of the collection by wiping their entire page and posting 12 images that make up a mosaic of Ye on an ID card.

The release of the video and announcement of the next drop was advertised in select locations across the globe. In New York, fans could spot billboards with a younger Ye dressed in YEEZY GAP Engineered by Balenciaga, complete with a QR code that directly linked to the "Life of the Party" video. Trucks were also spotted driving around showcasing the video in Chicago also.

The next collection of YEEZY GAP Engineered by Balenciaga clothing goes on sale tomorrow, May 25th, through the official YEEZY GAP webpage. The collection is set to feature a variety of jackets, hoodies, trousers and coats - many colored black, in-keeping with Ye's current fashion aesthetic. There'll be splashes of color in items such as the 'Dove No Seam Tee', which comes in navy blue, wine red, slate brown and light grey.

We'll also be seeing some of the clothing and accessories Ye wore during his recent trips to Japan as a part of the collection - such as shirts, bags and caps.
